This story starts in 2027, two years after the massive Solar Flare named the Fuku Event after the scientist that observed the CME. Focusing on 5 of the few "shifts" left in the world as they run from the government entity known as D.A.M. (Department of Anomalies & Manifestations), developed by the UN to eliminate the threat of these shifts. While many have been captured, most shifts at this point have been eliminated by the CarE(Carrington Event) Taskforce, a group of non-shifted individuals with unique and deadly skills. Those that have been captured were either sedated indefinitely or used by the government as weapons against their own kind. In these dark times, both figuratively and literally, these 5 shifts are part of an underground group known as Bastions which was put together to hide and protect shifts while also helping keep the nefarious ones from harming the "normies" (non-shifted persons). These 5 shifts are part of the only remaining bastions left in the world, consisting of Dusk(Shadow Manipulation) one of the most powerful of the group he is a wolf from New York with the ability to manipulate and travel through shadows, Mirakel aka Naz (Quintekinesis) a younger kid from a powerful family in Canada known as the Phoenix Kin who is able to manipulate life energy, Koval (Reality Shifting) a fox from Ukraine who is stuck between two realities, both this and an entirely monochrome reality, visually shown by his black and white appearance, Tizha (Crystallization) a water dragon from the Heimaey island in Iceland that has the ability to create and manipulate water crystals, and finally Adnama aka Nams (Fire Deity Physiology) a lioness from a remote tribe in Mpumalangal, South Africa with the ability to summon fire and manipulate combustion.
